The essence is that vitality has a relationship with resilience and authenticity of our food. This insight makes it possible to approach the question - is organic healthier? - in a whole new way!

X-ray detection in the food industry; determining the effect of X-ray radiation on the germination of cress seeds. 2014
X-ray detection methods are increasingly used in the food industry for the detection of foreign particles in packaged foods and beverages. Evaluation of the impact on food products has however been limited to compound analyses. This project focusses on determining the effect of X-ray radiation on germinating cress seeds by means of the biocrystallization method.

This project is part of the BSc. thesis of J.A. Zandbergen Wageningen University, in collaboration with Crystal Lab (download pdf thesis 2.9Mb).

Effects of heating and electromagnetic radiation on homeopathic preparations of Stannum metallicum, as examined in a cress seedling / biocrystallisation test system. 2011-2013
The determination of the effect of heating and electromagnetic (GSM) radiation on the quality of homeopathic D30 potencies according to a biocrystallisation test system developed in a previous project.

This project is conducted in cooperation with the Institute of Complementary Medicine KIKOM, University of Bern (CH), Biodynamic Research Association Denmark (DK), Hiscia Institute, Arlesheim (CH).

First phase GESTE (Gestalt Evaluation and Structure analysis). 2010-2012
The scientific development and substantiation of methodology for Gestalt/pattern recognition in crystallisation images. The characterization of a fundamental life process as expressed in crystallization images, and the translation of the characterized Gestalt domain to structural analysis software.

This project is conducted in collaboration with the Universität Kassel (D), Biodynamic Research Association Denmark (DK), Muvara (NL), nstitut für Organischen Landbau (IOL) Bonn (D), Forschungsring e.V. (D), Papyrus (D), Machteld Huber, Guus van der Bie, Miriam Athmann.

Development of a biocrystallisation method for examining effects of homeopathic preparations on germinating cress seeds. 2009-2011 (download pdf 2.5Mb)
The development of a biocrystallisation test system to determine the effects of homeopathic potencies. For this purpose crystallization images of cress seedlings are made that germinated in various D30 homeopathic potencies.

This project was conducted in collaboration with the Institute of Complementary Medicine KIKOM, University of Bern (CH), Biodynamic Research Association Denmark (DK), Hiscia Institute, Arlesheim (CH), Muvara (NL).

The development of a structure analysis algorithm for the computer-controlled morphological characterization of biocrystallisation images.

Differentiation of conventional and organic rye through biocrystallisation. 2008
Examination of the inner quality of organic versus conventionally grown rye for an English brewer.

Milk processing. 2007
Evaluation of the effect of processing of raw cow milk on the image forming ability as observed with the biocrystallisation method. Processing steps consisted of homogenization at 50 and 200 Bar, homogenization at 200 Bar and subsequently pasteurisation at 76 and 900C, UHT sterilization without homogenization at 1400C.
